Christmas with the magi, hmmm, not maggi cube sha, don’t get it twisteddd😔✋🏽
"Magi" is the plural form of the Latin word "Magus", which refers to a group of wise men or scholars.
In the context of the Christmas story, the Magi are the three wise men who traveled from the East to visit Jesus, bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
Beloved, beyond the Gold, frankincense and myrrh, I saw lessons through these gifts that I want to share with you.
The passage of the three wise men is found in Matthew 2:1 - 12.
walk with me?
“When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
Matthew 2:10-11
I’m going to be sharing three lessons.
The first is drawn from “And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him”
This season as we celebrate the birth of Christ and every other time, our hearts should be postured in worship. A heart of worship is what we should have when coming to Jesus.
Next, not only did the magi show us the importance of coming to Jesus with a heart of worship, they demonstrated how to worship.
“And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
Emphasis on “opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him”
We see that the Magi worshipped Jesus with their treasures as well. Although, in the time of the wise men their treasures were “gold, frankincense and myrrh” in our own time, our treasures are not the same. We may not necessarily have gold or myrrh to worship Jesus with. Our own treasures may be our gifts, talents, time, money, anything valuable.
Another form of worship demonstrated by the wise men was their obedience to God’s instruction not to return to Herod.
A statement that got imprinted on my heart this year is - obedience is God’s love language. If you want to worship God with your actions or show Him you love Him, obey Him/His words (John 14:15)
In summary, I noticed a pattern in the lives of these magi when they met Jesus;
When they met Jesus for the first time, they humbly bowed down and worshipped Him (acknowledged His kingship and supremacy)
Secondly, they presented their treasures to Him as worship signifying that when we come to Christ we are meant to use our gifts for His glory.
Lastly, while they were leaving they used their obedience as a form of worship. Their worship didn’t end in the presence of Jesus. It continued, symbolizing that worship should be our lifestyle, a daily conscious effort and that worship doesn’t have to be only material things, even our actions should be worship.
This is a pattern I think should be evident in our lives as Children of God.
Not to bore you too much (also so you can get back to your celebrations), I want to leave you with a message:
Beyond the mistletoe and christmas trees hanging, parties here and there, Jollof rice and family reunions, I want you my beloved to celebrate this Christmas with a message of worship in your heart -Worship and reverence to the messiah.
Also remember Jesus is the reason for the season, it’s easy to get carried away at times like this.
Merry Christmas, beloved🎄❤️ (wish me back naw😔)
May the love, peace and joy of Christ fill your hearts and homes, amen.
we outsideeee for our Lord and savior!😂

Beautifully shared Adaeze, may our hearts really take that posture of worship that Jesus is deserving of💫.
